Here we are Claudio and me.
Sorry if some days have passed since our trip!
We had a very nice bike trip on April 20th in San Marino area.
Our tour started at Claudio's home in San Marino (precisely in Dogana), and our first stop was in San Leo (photo nr. 1,2), a nice village with a fortress on the top of the hill, part of UNESCO Patrimony.

We continued to go up, to reach "San Marco" pass and then had some kilometers of breathing enjoying the downhill in a very nice route surrounded by hills.
Along the path, we met some groups of cyclists coming from Germany and Austria.
After about 40 km we arrived in Monte Cerignone where we could appreciate another fortress (photo nr. 3,4) and obviously the whole landscape.

We have to say that the SUNNY day we had gave us the chance to fully appreciate our trip.
At 1 pm we stopped for a break and had a sandwich (mandatory to survive for the remaining part of the trip :-) ).
Then, we continued our route as our final destination was the top of San Marino. We saw Mercatino Conca, Montellicciano, and entered in San Marino arriving in front of the house of Parliament (near the summit of Titano's Mountain) where we took a picture (photo nr. 5,6).

We came back home with 15 km sloping...FINE!
At last, we made 76 km in a route interesting and stimulating with all its ups and downs. (see the map nr. 7)

It was hard but we were very satisfied in having succeeded
CIAO ALL and see you for a new bike "adventure"

Claudio & Elena

Very beautiful scenery on a very sunny day. San Marino is impressive. thank you also for adding the map. That increases my understanding of the world. Thank you for contribution to Bike Le Monde 08!
